Q. What happens to donated items?

A. Textiles donated through this program are collected by Talize/Recycling Rewards and brought to a sorting facility. Textiles go to Talize thrift stores where they may be sold or redistributed. Non-reusable textiles are sent to companies that recycle them into upholstery, stuffing, or rags. Items that cannot be reused or recycled go to landfill. Talize/Recycling Rewards has a 98% diversion rate of all materials they accept.

 

Q. How do I register for my street to be picked up?

A. Please email us or call us to register for your street to be picked up.

Q. Is there a limit to the amount of bags I can donate?

A. There is no limit to the number of bags that residents can donate.

Q. Why are clear bags mandatory for my donations?

A. Clear bag usage is the municipal policy for transparency and safety reasons. Please label the bags with TEXTILE (you can print our textile sign and place it on your bags)

 

Q. What time will my product be picked up?

A. Our drivers will be collecting on your scheduled day from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Please make sure all items are placed curbside on your scheduled day by 7 a.m. to avoid your textiles being missed.

 

Q. What happens if my address was missed?

A. Please contact Recycling Rewards prior to 5 pm Friday, October 6th and we will schedule a pickup.
